Back in the land of the living

We were finally connected to the internet again last night after what seems like an eternity without it. (It was only 10 days though). It’s funny, we didn’t actually miss it in general and had plenty to keep us occupied including several trips to Ikea, but we did miss being able to compare prices and do general house stuff online.

Waiting for the actual news to come on TV to find out what was going on in the world felt oddly backward too.

The new house is looking pretty liveable now. Most of the boxes are gone, and there are only a couple of pieces of furniture we need to get.

Of course now the house move is over, we have to get back to concentrating on the wedding. :o)

Well we finally completed the buying process today, and picked up the keys this afternoon.

We’re now packed and pretty well ready to move tomorrow. We’ll be offline for 1-2 weeks while we wait for the internet to be enabled, so apologies if we take a while to get back to you.

Well, it’s been tough keeping it secret from you all, but when Kel and I were in Austria, we decided it was time to stop dithering about and buy ourselves a property in London.

Once we got back it took us all of 4 days to find what we wanted. We put down an offer immediately, and today the exchange took place. Hopefully the completion will be a week tomorrow. 4 weeks in total start to finish. Not bad really.

It’s a gorgeous little warehouse conversion called Canada Wharf in Rotherhithe, right on the Thames and decorated to a really high quality. As the crow flies it’s virtually just over the river from where we are now. We should have some images up soon.

Only in Europe

Filling an extremely bored moment by watching pointless videos on YouTube, I was lucky enough to come across the video for this year’s entry into the Eurovision Song Contest from Switzerland.

Utterly bizarre, and some sort of love child from Aqua, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a school musical, it’s your typical euro-pop number with a blood sucking twist. Obviously cashing in on the whole monsters theme from last year.

Strange. Very strange.

Watch it by pressing play below.

I just read on the BBC website that there is going to be a Total Lunar Eclipse tonight starting at about 8.20pm and peaking at around 11.00pm. It will be total in Europe.

“Skywatchers eagerly awaiting Saturday’s total lunar eclipse say that the spectacle could be the best in years”

I’m sure it would be lovely to see if it wasn’t for all the clouds.
