It looks like our bathroom renovation has been postponed for a week as the lady in Kensington that our builder is currently with keeps changing her mind.

I guess she must be having trouble thinking straight in between going shopping in her 4 x 4 and getting her nails done.

Well at least people have shut up about Global Warming for a few weeks while we (along with quite a few other countries it seems) suffer some awful rain.

Here in London we’ve hardly registered on the rain-o-meter but up at Ma and Pa’s in that thar midland area they have had a fair bit and the River Trent has flooded.

Mum and Dad have commented on the ‘idiots’ that are still trying to drive through the floods. gave Dad and opportunity for a few pictures though. ;o)

Nice, unusual

As many of your have probably noticed by now the movies of The Big Day are now available to watch. (Click on the links to your right if you haven’t already).

We’re really pleased with the final product and Phil has done a great job. We wanted something a bit different than the norm. whilst still capturing everything about the day, and he scores full marks on both counts.

Finally viewing the Video Diaries was great fun too, and we want to thank you all for your lovely messages, it’s hard to believe it was all nearly a month ago now.

PS: Thanks for no mucky messages. :o)

Glorious day today.

Went on our usual Sunday walk down to Greenwich and discovered we had to journey through a very dodgy area on the way, so we picked up our pace at that point. As usual we spotted a few properties we want to buy on the way through.

The baskets on the balcony seem to have taken on a life of their own though.

The letter arrived today that we had to pay the £1.06 for.

It was our wedding certificate, so I guess it was worth it in the end. :o)

When is 6p actually £1.06?

When Royal Mail is involved.

A card was left in our postbox today informing us that a letter had been sent to us but was 6p short of the postage fee.

The ‘processing charge’ for this is £1.00. So we have had to go online and pay £1.06 before even getting a redelivery.

The most annoying thing is there is no information provided on who the letter is from, so we might not even want the thing, and the Postmen don’t even attempt to knock on the door and ask for the payment. They just automatically leave the card.

Plus if Royal Mail hadn’t made posting something such an ordeal these days the stamp would probably have been enough to start with.

Can’t see the wood for the, erm, houses

Deciding to get a bit of sunshine last week, Kel and I went on an exploration of our immediate area.

We were quite surprised to find that just behind the houses and street over the road there is what they call an ‘ecological park’, which means lots of trees, grass and bugs.

It’s actually very pretty and an amazingly tranquil place right in the middle of the city. Great for picnics. There is also a small hill right in the middle which has great views of London.

What’s in a name?

It seems news of our nuptials has been spreading. A letter came in the post for us yesterday addressed to ‘Mr J Clifford’.

Ironically, the letter is concerning a complaint we made about NPower making a mess of our account.
