Kel goes native

After many years, umpteen visa application’s, and several thousand pounds, Kel and I went for his Citizenship Ceremony today.
It took place in Bow vestry, in exactly the same room we were married in (almost 6 months to the day) so that was a blast from the past. No lolly bags this time though, which was slightly disappointing.
It was a nice ceremony with a collection of around 25 people joining Kel. Even the lady presenting the proceedings mentioned there was a very varied collection of people.
There were people from the Ukraine, Russia, Bangladesh. Bolivia, Yugoslavia (does that still exist though?) and she let out a little titter when she called Kels name and ‘Australia’. We’re not sure why. Maybe not many Aussies go the whole hog.
At the end we stood while ‘God save the Queen’ was played through a few times, then had our picture taken next to the Queen (in portrait form).
All very nice, and certainly an experience.
