It was forecast, but it’s always a shock when we get such a royal dumping.

Thank you all!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes today. We had a relatively quiet one, just chilling out and using the Spa etc.

We’re due several days of constant heavy snow now, so hopefully I’ll get a nice bit of video.

Rather shockingly, we didn’t go on the hotel wine tour this evening. My how things have changed. :o)

Thanks to the wonders of the modern internet age, we now have a video page that will contain all the movies we make from now on. To start us off, we’ve added a nice little re-cap on Seefeld that we filmed today.

It starts quite dramatically, but what’s new?

You can see the page by clicking here, or by selecting ‘Videos’ on the left.

But if you’re really lazy, take a peak below.

Back in paradise at last… (UPDATED)

After what seems like an eternity (18 months actually) we’re finally back in Seefeld following an extremely stressful couple of years. It’s amazing to think what has happened since our last visit. In fact the last time we were here The Knightsbridge Green had just been bought. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

Using the power of the modern web apart from this blog we’ll be updating the photo gallery page on Flickr and Facebook.

Anyway, the trip in went very well. It took 15 minutes by Taxi from our house in Canary Wharf through to Victoria. Incredible.

The rest of the trip went without too much hassle, the flight departed 30 minutes late, but we still arrived before schedule. A quick trip up the mountains later an we were back in the gloriously snow covered Seefeld.

The Klosterbrau has had a few tweaks since we were last here which have improved it even more.

Our room, by pure coincidence, turns out to be Alois old bedroom from when I first came here 10 years ago. It was converted to a guest room 6 years ago. So it’s a lot more modern, with nice wooden floors.

I’m still on the hotel video, and managed to catch a grainy shot of me getting a facial, although it does look more like a soapy dream sequence, with a Dalek attacking from top right.

The temperature of -2c here isn’t much different to London at the moment, but the cold feels a lot more bearable. The only difference being you feel like your ears are going to fall off after a couple of minutes outside.

We’ve just been an had our usual first night out at the Sportsailer, there are a few snow sculptures out there, some are vaguely creepy, like these ‘Choir Singers’.

I finally got a decent shot of the restaurant from the outside. Candles in the snow and all. We also managed to have one of the most expensive meals we’ve ever had. The exchange rate really is a shocker this time around!

UPDATE: The camera USB cable was found. In Kel’s shoe.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like…

Like something out of a disaster movie, we were informed on the TV that a ‘Severe Weather Event’ was due overnight and today. Basically a snow storm in the South East then spreading to the rest of the UK. it started snowing about 7pm last night, and we woke to find it hadn’t really stopped….

In fact our view of the Wharf this morning looked a bit like a moody Christmas Card.

The balcony is covered in a snow drift.

A few weary commuters were doing their best, but the transport system collapsed as usual.

Everything looks quite pretty, from inside.

...but it’s odd seeing familiar sights covered in snow.
