Father decided to start fiddling with his camera and downloaded some software to help him create panoramic images by stitching together pictures taken from our balcony. They’ve come out really well.

The first is a basic shot out towards the Isle of Dogs in the afternoon.

Then a sunset.

Then my favourite, London and Canary Wharf at night.

Eltham was rubbish but Greenwich was nice

The best laid plans eh?

The aim today was to travel down the Eltham Palace in Eltham (surprisingly), a small ‘Village’ just south of Greenwich. There is an art deco palace there that is meant to be pretty funky.

We can certainly agree on that, but only from the outside. It turned out to be closed today.

Looking at the Palace from the exterior shots below it was a bit of a disappointment that we couldn’t get in.

So we set off home (after mum took a tour of Marks and Spencer of course), and decided to go to Greenwich.

After a swift coffee break in Costa, we ventured over to the Market. We spotted some unique pictures perfect for our apartment. With a sprinkling of indecision and haggling (not) we decided on the ones we wanted.

Mum and Dad kindly bought them for us but the artist told us it would take and hour or so to frame them. Pondering what to do next we wandered over to the Maritime Museum which has undergone something of a transformation.

Mum and dad arrived today for a quick Bank Holiday visit.

Kel arrived home early and we mulled over what to do, so we ended up on the farm! Mudchute Farm to be exact, a small plot slapped right in the middle of the Isle of Dogs.

A bizarre place as you can’t hear traffic, just birds, pigs, goats, sheep and Llamas.

Although there was one point where we felt the Crow Pen was a little over the top.

{title}

I made friends with a Squirrel (seems to be happening a lot lately). It got a bit arsey when I had nothing for it to eat though.

{title}

Afterwards we wandered over to The Gun, a gorgeous pub on the Thames.

We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday. It always gets a little bit confusing around this time of year as it’s also about the same time we first met.

Of course we also have our very first ‘wedding’ anniversary, which is in October, but that’s when things start getting a little too complicated.

Anyway, I decided to ‘treat’ Kel by cooking him dinner. It gave me the opportunity to shop in Waitrose :o) and I ended up burning a nice chicken dish.

I bought Kel a nice bunch of roses.

Okay, okay, it’s all different

Well after years of relying on software to produce our website and putting up with crashes and things not going quite as expected, I bit the bullet and decided to design the darn thing myself, bit of a busmans holiday but there you go. You’ll need to re-subscribe to the news feed. Any issues with the site, just drop me a line. :o)

Somewhere new, yippee

We spent this weekend on a quick trip to Newquay. I had been there before, but it was 23 odd years ago so we’re allowed to call it a ‘new’ place.

Air Southwest recently opened up cheap flights from London City Airport so it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. Even with a strong headwind we were on the coast within a couple of hours.

We stayed at the Glendougal Resort, a nicely located ‘Spa’ right on the edge of a cliff, just outside Newquay centre and affording stunning views.

We were a little disappointed with it though. It wasn’t cheap (it was an anniversary treat) but there were a few too many details that were missing, like shaver sockets and hotel info in the rooms. Nice enough though and the evening meals were lovely.

The view from the Restaurant wasn’t to be sneezed at.

Kel also decided to go for a cliff walk.

On our final day the weather was stunning, with clear, deep blue skies (we call them Aussie skies) and strong sunshine for May.

Of course we spent a fair while deciding where we were going to buy our holiday home there (which we think about everywhere we go) - but decided against it in the end. :o)
