Confetti

About this time 3 years ago we were probably in a blind panic about something or other. It all turned out alright in the end though.

Nice, unusual

As many of your have probably noticed by now the movies of The Big Day are now available to watch. (Click on the links to your right if you haven’t already).

We’re really pleased with the final product and Phil has done a great job. We wanted something a bit different than the norm. whilst still capturing everything about the day, and he scores full marks on both counts.

Finally viewing the Video Diaries was great fun too, and we want to thank you all for your lovely messages, it’s hard to believe it was all nearly a month ago now.

PS: Thanks for no mucky messages. :o)

They’re here!

After a small amount of fiddling and a large amount of uploading, the photos are now on the site. Just click on the link to the right to take a look.

They are in flash format, so not download-able, but if you really like a picture let us know and we can try to email the right one to you.

We’ve got you on camera

After spending a couple of weeks of our holiday recovering from that nasty bug just in time to go back to work, we were pleasantly surprised to see the DVD of the wedding photos plop onto our doormat this morning. (Actually we don’t have a doormat and it didn’t plop, but ‘clanking into our pigeon hole’ doesn’t have the same ring to it somehow).

The photographs are great, and really capture the spirit of the day. We’ll be uploading the different albums in the next few days for you to peruse and we’ll be sending out an email to let you know when they’re all ready

We didn’t do it!

It was a bit of a shocker to see that the Cutty Sark has caught fire overnight. Apparently it is only 50% damaged, as a lot of it is at another location being cleaned.

I learnt of this news this morning when Sharron sent me a text message saying she ‘knew we were angry at the situation with the photos but setting fire to the ship was a bit much.’

The big day has come and gone and we had a wonderful time and hope all of you did too.

The only mishaps we had were involving a flower going AWOL en route and the charming people at the Naval College. (We actually found the flower a few steps from our home when we returned!)

The boat ride was stunning, and we couldn’t have timed it better with Tower Bridge rising and the ship in front of us blasting canons all over the place. (I doubt they were real though, as a few tourists would probably have been taken out).

Thanks to Olga for the beautiful cake(s), we know there was a fair amount of interest in it, and she has said if anyone would like a cake made by her to get in touch with her through us and she’ll see what she can do.

Paul also did us proud by sacrificing his day at Wembley to be our best man. He was chuffed that not a goal was scored until he was happily settled on our sofa at home with a bottle of Stella in his hand. :o)

And of course, thanks to our families for giving us their unconditional support and hopefully enjoying the day as much as we did.

The fact that so many people made such an effort, travelling from all over the world to be there for us meant a great deal.

On a final note, this website isn’t finished and going off-line now the wedding is over. We’ll still be updating it regularly with anything we feel the world may or may not be interested in. The first updates will most likely be photos from the day.

So, again, thank you to all of you for the effort you made, the gifts you gave and for making our wedding day very special indeed.

London transport have announced they are closing the DLR from Heron Quays to Stratford for the weekend of our wedding.

This doesn’t change things too much, but will probably affect your plans to travel to the ceremony.

We recommend either getting a Taxi (pre-book if you’re staying at a hotel, as not many will be around on a Saturday morning), or using the tube.

This does affect the route from the Registry Office to Greenwich. We will be meeting outside Canary Wharf Tube station whether we have arrived there by Taxi or Tube. From there it’s an easy walk to the DLR down to Greenwich.

Happy Birthday mum! (English mum that is).

In a highly unusual anomaly in the space/time continuum both sets of our parents are currently living under the same roof without our supervision.

Pam and Dave plus Andy and Christine arrived at Gill and Glen’s house a couple of days ago after successfully completing the letter ‘B’ in the UK guide book. Since then they’ve been off gallivanting all over the English countryside looking at old things and eating cheese and tomato baps in the car, while it rains outside.

We trust they are behaving themselves and refraining from getting drunk and waking the neighbours.

Another member of the clan, Karen, is also boarding a flight from Australia tomorrow to begin the quick and easy journey to the UK. You’ll be able to spot her at the wedding, she’ll be the one in platforms performing Abba songs at regular intervals.
