The Most Beautiful Place on Earth

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth

Today was the day we visited the reed and were able to visit the place I remembered the most from my backpacking trip to Oz back in 1991, Whitehaven Beach.

Boat to Whitehaven Beach

We booked the Ocean Rafting tour. They take you out to the Reef using what would normally be a lifeboat, at full speed. Great fun.

After a pretty quick ride, we finally arrived at Whitsunday Island, the views from the lookout at the top were stunning.

After taking in the view we walked down to Whitehaven Beach. The sand is so white as it’s made from Silica. It’s so fine you can actually use it to polish jewellery. The water was incredibly warm and refreshing.

We sat and ate lunch on the beach, agreeing that it really is the most beautiful place we have ever seen.

A little later we walked along the beach and saw a Manta Ray, (the thing that killed Steve Irwin).

A a little shoal of ickle Sharks. yes, Sharks. Harmless though.

We cruised around the Island on the boat and hoped off with our Snorkels to view the reef and fish. Incredible, but we couldn’t take any pics for obvious reasons!

We spotted a Dory fish from Finding Nemo, but no Nemo fish to be seen.

We returned to Arlie Beach tired and toasted.
